OANDA Canada: withdraw funds

  • • We sometimes may need to contact you about your withdrawals. Please keep an eye on your email (including your junk folder) in case we have sent you an email
  • • Whenever you request a withdrawal, please ensure that there are sufficient funds remaining in your OANDA account to prevent margin calls on your existing trades 
  • • Withdrawals are subject to our hierarchy rule. If you have deposited using multiple methods, you must exhaust the total original deposit amounts in the following order:

1. PayPal
  •  
  • • PayPal withdrawals are only processed in CAD
  • • Withdrawals to new PayPal accounts (i.e. accounts not previously used for a deposit or withdrawal) are permitted. However, new accounts must be registered to the same person (or entity) as the OANDA account holder
  • • To verify new PayPal account ownership, we require a screenshot of your PayPal account profile page. Email the screenshot to frontdesk@oanda.com
  • • We do not process withdrawals to your business PayPal account. We can only process withdrawals to your personal PayPal account

  • *Please note: your financial institution may take additional time to complete your withdrawal.

  • *Please note: if your PayPal account is denominated in a currency other than CAD, you may incur exchange fees levied by PayPal in addition to the withdrawal fee.

2. Bank transfer

Withdrawals by bank transfer must be:
  •  
  • • Processed to bank accounts registered to the same person (or entity) as the OANDA account holder
  • • The name(s) on your OANDA account must match the name(s) on the bank account you would like the withdrawal to be processed to
  • • Processed to the same country, in the same currency as the original deposit. 
  •  
*Please note: if you are withdrawing to a bank account that you had previously not made any deposits from, we will need confirmation that you are the owner of the bank account. If we are unable to confirm your details from the wire transfer, we will request a bank statement via email. You can also upload supporting documents here.
