When will OANDA transfer accounts from Latin American and Caribbean clients to OANDA Australia?
Unfortunately, OANDA will not be able to transfer your existing account to OANDA Australia. However, you may apply for an account under OANDA Australia starting November 1.
Is OANDA a regulated broker? What institution is in charge to regulate OANDA Australia?
OANDA Australia Pty Ltd (ABN 26 152 088 349, AFS License No. 412981) is regulated by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC)
What is the maximum leverage offered in Australia?
The maximum leverage offered in Australia is 100:1. Learn more about the leverage and margin requirements for the currency pairs and instruments we offer.
How can I open an account with OANDA?
You can open an account by filling out an application form. For now, we only offer paper applications. From November 2018, you will also be able to apply for an account online. For more information about our account opening process, please email us at espanol@OANDA.com
What documents do you accept to open an account?
To apply for an account, you must send us the following:
Proof of ID (one of the below):
- Driver's license
- National identification (certificate)
Proof of address (documents accepted):
- A bank statement of your checking account or credit card (Recommended)
- Internet, landline, pay TV or cable bill
- Utilities bill (hydro or gas)
- A receipt of your life insurance
- Leasing contract
Note: your proof of address must include your name, address, and must not be older than 90 days. If your address is visible on your personal ID document, one additional proof of address is required.
How long can the account opening process take?
The account opening process can take approximately 24 to 72 hours, provided we have all the necessary on-boarding documents, and subject to compliance approval.
Who can open an account with OANDA Australia?
You can open an account with OANDA Australia if you reside in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Clients residing in Spain and Portugal must open an account with OANDA Europe.
If I already have an account with OANDA Europe, do I need to re-apply to open an account with OANDA Australia?
Yes, you will need to re-apply for an account under OANDA Australia. Please send an email to espanol@OANDA.com so you can obtain detailed information about the account opening process.
Is OANDA accepting applications for introducing brokers (IBs)?
Yes. We are currently accepting applications for IBs. For more information about the process and benefits, please email jmatos@OANDA.com.
Does OANDA offer a referral program?
Yes. We offer a no-limit referral program. For more information, please email espanol@OANDA.com.
Can I open a demo account under OANDA Australia?
Yes, it is possible to have a demo under OANDA Australia. To register, please visit www.oanda.com and select Australia as your country of residence when registering for the demo account.
What are the deposit methods available under OANDA Australia?
You can deposit funds by credit card (Visa or MasterCard), electronic transfer, bank transfer, BPAY and China Union Pay. Learn more about depositing funds with OANDA.
How can I download the OANDA Trade and MetaTrader4 (MT4) platform?
You can download the platform from our website or by accessing our account login page.
